Everything announced at OpenAI’s DevDay 👇️ 

OpenAI made some new announcements at their DevDay 2024 event!

They introduced the Realtime API, which allows developers to create low-latency, AI-generated voice responses. It supports natural speech-to-speech conversations, similar to ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode 🗣️ 

Additionally, OpenAI launched a prompt caching feature that detects repeated API calls and returns previously generated responses. This feature aims to make API calls more cost-effective by reducing the need for repeated processing 📈

Bad news for ChatGPT users 🤷 

There have been reports that OpenAI might increase the price of ChatGPT subscriptions significantly over the next few years 💵📈 

According to internal documents cited by The New York Times, OpenAI plans to raise the price of individual ChatGPT subscriptions from $20 per month to $22 per month by the end of this year. By 2029, the price could reach $44 per month.

This price hike is part of OpenAI’s strategy to address financial pressures and operational costs, including staffing and AI infrastructure. While this might seem steep, it’s aimed at ensuring the sustainability and continued development of their AI services.

Copilot gets new AI features 🤖 

Microsoft has recently introduced some new features for Copilot! Now, Copilot can read your screen, think deeply about the content, and even speak aloud to you. These updates include:

1. Copilot Vision: This feature allows Copilot to analyze and respond to questions about what’s on your screen, especially when using Microsoft Edge✅ 
   

2. Copilot Voice: Available in select English-speaking countries, this feature lets you interact with Copilot using voice commands and hear its responses spoken aloud 🗣️ 
   

3. Enhanced Reasoning: Copilot can now tackle more complex problems using advanced reasoning models 📈 

In my opinion, Copilot is one of the best AI models right now - and these features have made it even better.

Amazon 🤝 Anthropic

Amazon and Anthropic have signed a significant deal. Amazon has completed a $4 billion investment in Anthropic to advance generative AI technologies 🤖 

As part of this collaboration, Anthropic will use Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its primary cloud provider and will leverage AWS’s Trainium and Inferentia chips to build, train, and deploy its future AI models ✅ 

This partnership aims to make Anthropic’s advanced AI models, like the Claude 3 family, widely accessible to AWS customers, enabling them to innovate with generative AI across various industries.

Amazon will hold a minority stake in Anthropic as part of this deal 💰️
