BREAKING AI NEWS
Google vs Singlular 🥊
Google is currently facing a multibillion-dollar lawsuit over allegations that it infringed on patents held by Singular Computing. The lawsuit claims that Google’s processors, which power AI features in products like Google Search and Gmail, infringe patents held by Singular Computing 🤔
Singular Computing alleges that Google copied its technology and used it to support AI features in various Google services. The lawsuit states that Google’s Tensor Processing Units, which enhance the tech giant’s AI capabilities, copy Bates’ technology and infringe two patents ©️
Singular Computing is seeking up to $7 billion in damages. If awarded, this would be more than double the largest-ever patent infringement award in U.S. history. The trial is set to take place in a federal court in Boston 🧑⚖️
Google has defended itself by stating that its processors work differently from Singular’s patented technologies and that the case is invalid ❌
