Google vs Singlular 🥊 

Google is currently facing a multibillion-dollar lawsuit over allegations that it infringed on patents held by Singular Computing. The lawsuit claims that Google’s processors, which power AI features in products like Google Search and Gmail, infringe patents held by Singular Computing 🤔 

Singular Computing alleges that Google copied its technology and used it to support AI features in various Google services. The lawsuit states that Google’s Tensor Processing Units, which enhance the tech giant’s AI capabilities, copy Bates’ technology and infringe two patents ©️ 

Singular Computing is seeking up to $7 billion in damages. If awarded, this would be more than double the largest-ever patent infringement award in U.S. history. The trial is set to take place in a federal court in Boston 🧑‍⚖️ 

Google has defended itself by stating that its processors work differently from Singular’s patented technologies and that the case is invalid ❌ 

GPTStore is finally here 🤖🛍️ 

OpenAI has finally launched its GPT Store, a marketplace where users can buy and sell specialized chatbot agents based on the company’s language models. The store allows users to offer and monetize a broader range of tools ⚒️ 

Through the new product models, chatbot agents could be developed with their own personalities or themes, including models for salary negotiating, creating lesson plans, and developing recipes 📈 

OpenAI also said that users have already created more than 3 million custom versions of ChatGPTs. It added that it has been planning to highlight useful GPT tools inside the newly launched store every week 📈 

Amazon Alexa’s newest AI integration 🤖 

Amazon has introduced new generative AI-powered features into its flagship smart speaker, Alexa. Here are the key highlights:

Character.AI: This enables Alexa users to have real-time conversations with different personas, such as a fictional characters 🤸 

Splash: Splash launched a free Alexa Skill where users can create songs using their voice 🎤 

Volley: Volley introduced its generative AI-powered “20 Questions” game, giving Alexa users a modern version of the well-known game. The game uses generative AI to interact with users by asking them questions, providing hints, and explaining "yes or no questions” if the human opponent gets stuck 🧑‍🦱 

These enhancements are part of Amazon’s ongoing efforts to make Alexa more conversational and human-like 🗣️ 

Volkswagen brings ChatGPT to road 🛣️🚘️ 

Volkswagen has announced that it will integrate ChatGPT into some of its new car models. This feature will be seen on Volkswagen MEB EV range and MQB EVO platform-based models globally. The integration of ChatGPT into the backend of the Volkswagen voice assistant offers a multitude of new capabilities that go far beyond the previous voice control 🗣️ 

For example, the IDA voice assistant can be used to control the infotainment, navigation, and air conditioning, or to answer general knowledge questions 🚘️ 

Volkswagen will be the first volume manufacturer to offer ChatGPT as a standard feature from the second quarter of 2024 in many production vehicles. It’s important to note that ChatGPT does not gain access to any vehicle data; questions and answers are deleted immediately to ensure the highest possible level of data protection 🔐

CES 2024

A quick rundown of everything major revealed at CES ‘24 🤖 

The 2024 edition of CES is about to come to a close, saying it was full off futuristic crazy tech would be an understatement 🤖 

It was also full of massive announcements from companies, including Nvidia, LG, Sony and Samsung 💪 

Now we know, no one has time to watch multiple hour-long livestreams - so that’s why today we’re bringing you a full recap of everything revealed and announced at CES ‘24 🧑‍💻 

Here we go 🚀 

1. Apple Vision Pro to go on sale February 2 😎 

   Apple announced that the Vision Pro will be available in the U.S. starting February 2 📆 Pre-orders for device will open January 19 ✅ 

2. Bosch’s in-car eye-tracking 👀 
   Bosch announced two eye-tracking technologies while you drive. One - it will see that you have tired eyes and ask if you need a coffee when you arrive home. Second is developed to track what you’re looking at as you drive 🚗 

3. Samsung’s folding and rollable displays 📱 
   Samsung announced some of its product plans that include a “new generation of products that can be folded inward and outward,” along with “monitor-sized” folding and sliding displays. Samsung also unveiled a “Transparent MICRO LED” display for the first time 📱 

3. Nvidia goes deep into the AI game ⌨️ 
   Nvidia announced 👇️ 

   1. its GeForce RTX, including the GeForce RTX 40 Super series of desktop graphics cards. The RTX 4080 Super starts at $999 💵 

   2. a partnership with Getty Images that will include a new service for iStock customers, which can create licensable images trained on the existing iStock photo library 🖼️ 

   3. ACE, which uses AI to create unique reactions from in-game NPCs 🧑‍🦰 

4. LG’s transparent television 📺️ 

   LG unveiled its “world’s first” wireless transparent OLED TV. The LG Signature OLED T combines a transparent 4K OLED screen with LG’s wireless video and audio transmission technology 📺️🤔 

5. Samsung’s version of WALL-E 🤖 
   Samsung announced a new home robot - Ballie. It’s around the size of a bowling ball with a battery designed to last two to three hours. Ballie sports a spatial lidar sensor to help it navigate rooms and obstacles, as well as a 1080p projector with two lenses that allows the robot to project movies and video calls and even act as a second PC monitor 🤖 

   

   Ballie can project content onto a wall or other surface 📽️ 

6. Kia’s new modular EV vans 🚌 

   They will have a modular powertrain and modular tops that allow for many different cabin options. But the pricing, specs and expected launch dates are unknown 🤔 

7. Amazon’s AI announcements 🤖 

   Amazon announced that it will support Matter Casting, the video- and audio-beaming feature of the Matter smart home standard, on its smart displays and smart TVs 📺️ 

8. Google x Samsung 🫡 

   Google and Samsung announced they are combining their sharing solutions into a singular cross-Android solution under the Quick Share name ✅ 

9. Electric vehicles — Honda, VinFast, Google Maps 🚘️ 

   1. Honda’s upcoming 0 series electric vehicles that is a thin and light take on the heavy EV trend 🚗 

   2. Vietnamese EV startup VinFast is getting into the electric pickup truck game with the reveal of a new concept called the VF Wild 🛻 

   3. Google has a new feature for EV drivers to track and display real-time battery information in Google Maps. The feature is available in EVs with Android Auto 🚗 

10. The Rabbit R1 🐰 

    The Rabbit R1 is a pocket-sized AI-powered assistant launched by Rabbit. Here are some key details:

    RabbitOS: The Rabbit R1 runs on RabbitOS, which uses a large action model (LAM) to operate apps without the need for a smartphone 📱 

    Rabbits: The device trains “rabbits”, personal AI agents, to perform tasks for users, connecting to services through an online portal 🌐 

    Hardware: The R1 is half the size of a smartphone, equipped with a MediaTek processor, 4GB memory, 128GB storage, and a rotating camera 📷️ 

    The Rabbit R1 is seen as a potential solution to smartphone addiction and complexity 💪 

11. Hyundai’s air taxi ambitions 🛫 

    Supernal’s landing aircraft got a showcase from its parent company Hyundai Motor Group on the ground in Las Vegas, as the so-named S-A2 moves closer to its planned 2028 launch for shuttling passengers 🚗✈️
