For today's letter, I took the better part of the previous week to research some of the most productive ways business professionals, students, developers, and regular folks are enhancing their work with ChatGPT. As always, let's get down to business and explore these hacks:
How to make actually ChatGPT sound like a human 🧬
Anyone who depends on ChatGPT to write business copies and emails understands how challenging it is to get ChatGPT to sound human. In fact, AI detectors are generally designed to spot this AI flaw.
While it's just common sense to tell ChatGPT how you want your text written, you may already know that the output rarely sounds like you want it, genuine.
For example, let's prompt ChatGPT to: "generate a human-sounding email to be sent to a hypothetical Mike telling him you read and loved his Finance newsletter and would like to jump on a call with him to talk about his views on some great stocks you are about to pick"
Mike would smell AI from miles away 🥴
What if I told you there is a way to make ChatGPT write an email that you wouldn’t be able to tell apart from a real human?

Tone: Conversational
Complexity: Use less technical or corporate jargon
Email Details:

Here’s the result:
I’ll say it myself, I’ve never seen ChatGPT provide an output as real as this. All due to this simple prompt (feel free to copy-and-paste it) ✍️

However, one challenge I've encountered while learning Mandarin, similar to other language learners using ChatGPT, is making it sound and act like an actual human Tutor 👨🏫
The 🔑 to using ChatGPT effectively for social tasks like language training, which require empathy and social skills, lies in setting the right tone. In this section, I'll show you how I establish the desired tone for my Mandarin language tutor before initiating the training.
Ultimately, your success with ChatGPT depends on your creativity.
“We won't be replaced by AI; instead, we'll be replaced by those who know how to use it better”
With that in mind, let's understand the basics to practical language training using ChatGPT as your tutor.
Step 1: Setting the tone and stage for your language class
Make sure to ask ChatGPT to “act as my [language] teacher”
Here’s the prompt for you to copy-and-paste:
Act as my [desired language] teacher following the approach in our chats:
On a scale of 1-10 relate to me as a [your level of experience] [desired language] speaker
Reply to my [the language you write in] text in [desired language], written in both [desired language] characters and the literal [the language you write in] letter pronunciations to help me understand the actual pronunciation.
Add extra notes to help me understand complex [desired language] language concepts, when necessary.
Translate your responses to [the language you write in] only when asked.

With the ChatGPT Plus subscription, you can enable the Speechki plugin to receive actual audio versions of each response. This will not only help you understand how to pronounce the actual phrases, but also learn easier through listening to dialogs.
