OpenAI co-founder leaves 👔 

Ilya Sutskever, co-founder and chief scientist of OpenAI, and Jan Leike, a co-leader of OpenAI’s superalignment group, have recently resigned from their positions at OpenAI 🤖 

Ilya Sutskever has been with the company since its founding in 2015 and is widely seen as one of the key engineers behind some of OpenAI’s biggest technical breakthroughs. His departure was followed by Jan Leike, who co-led efforts to ensure AI systems align with human interests ✅ 

Their resignations have come amid a series of high-profile exits from OpenAI’s safety team in recent months. Sutskever will be replaced by Jakub Pachocki.

It will be interesting to see what their next steps will be and how OpenAI will continue to evolve 🤔 

Google’s massive I/O announcements 📈 

Google made several exciting announcements at its I/O Developer Conference in 2024. Here are some key highlights 👇️ 

• Circle to Search: This feature will allow you to search anything you see on your phone using a simple gesture 👈️ 

• Gemini on Android: Gemini is a new kind of assistant that uses generative AI to help you be more creative and productive. It’s getting better at understanding the context of what’s on your screen and what app you’re using ✅ 

• Gemini Nano: Android is the first mobile operating system that includes a built-in, on-device foundation model 📱 

• Project Astra: This is an upcoming AI assistant being developed by Google^.

These are expected to roll out to hundreds of millions of devices over the next few months ✅ 

Gemini x Google Education Suite 🤖 

Google has recently announced the addition of Gemini to its Education suite. This was introduced at the Google I/O developer conference. The company is launching a Gemini add-on for educational institutes through Google Workspace^.

There are two plans available:

1. Gemini Education: This base plan is available in English for educators and students over 18, which lets users tap Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides and Meet, and chat with the AI. The base tier is priced at $24 per month or $192 per year per user.

2. Gemini Education Premium: In addition to everything in the base plan, this provides features like AI-powered note-taking and summaries in Meet, as well as data loss prevention. The premium plan costs $36 per month or $288 per year per user.

Students above 18 at educational institutes can use Gemini for free without either of these plans ✅ 

Gmail finally gets Gemini integration 📧🤖 

Google has recently integrated its AI model, Gemini, into Gmail. Here are the key features and updates ⬇️ 

1. Email Summarization: Gemini can analyze email threads and provide a summarized view directly in the Gmail app 📧 

2. Drafting Emails: Gemini can also help draft emails. This can be a great help when you need an extra hand or dose of inspiration ✅ 

3. Complex Tasks: Gemini can take action on emails for more complex tasks, like helping you process an e-commerce return by searching your inbox, finding the receipt, and filling out an online form 🤖 

4. Gemini 1.5 Pro: Gemini in the Workspace side panel now uses Gemini 1.5 Pro. With a longer context window and more advanced reasoning, Gemini can answer a wider variety of questions and provide more insightful responses 🫡 

Please note that these features are optional and can be turned off if desired.

How to enhance your ChatGPT responses with highlighting  

ChatGPT has released a new feature which allows you to highlight certain parts of its responses 🗣️ 

You can use this feature for partial response rewrites, reusing old context, following-up to questions, etc

Here’s how to use it 👇️ 

1. Simply head to ChatGPT ✅

2. Prompt to ChatGPT and generate a response.
   

   

   
   

3. Now, you can highlight any part of the response that you want to correct, or follow-up on and click the ’ “ ‘ (double quote) icon above the highlighted text.
   

   

   
   

4. Now you can ask for rewrites, counterpoints, clarifications and more.

   

   The highlighted text will be added in the next prompt
