AI can now do chores for you ⁉️ 

Stanford University, with Google DeepMind, introduced Mobile ALOHA, a new system for learning bimanual mobile manipulation via low-cost whole-body teleoperation 🤵

It expands on the existing ALOHA system, imitating complex tasks and co-training with static ALOHA datasets. It can perform tasks like sautéing shrimp, storing pots, and rinsing pans 🍳 

With just 50 demonstrations per task, co-training can boost success rates by up to 90%. This cost-effective system uses supervised behaviour cloning for autonomous task performance.

Samsung to unveil their new AI-powered smartphone 📱🤖 

Samsung is set to announce its new phones, presumably the Galaxy S24 series, on January 17, 2024. These devices are expected to include new AI-powered features among other routine camera and processor upgrades 📈

One of the AI-powered features that Samsung has teased is an AI live translator integrated into calls. This feature, part of the comprehensive mobile AI experience called “Galaxy AI”, will allow real-time audio and text translations during calls 📞 

Galaxy AI, which is expected to debut on the Galaxy S24 series, will use both on-device AI developed by Samsung and cloud-based AI enabled by collaborations with industry leaders 🤖 

This new AI capability is a significant departure from Samsung’s previous AI assistant, Bixby. Galaxy AI is expected to be much smarter and will enable “barrier-free communication, simplified productivity, and unconstrained creativity,” according to Samsung 📈 

Microsoft will change the future of keyboards ⌨️ 

Microsoft announced a new key for Copilot — that is, a physical key that will soon make its way to your keyboard and join the Windows key, together with its friends the Control key, Alt and that Insert key you’ve never purposely used 😂 

Based on the image Microsoft sent over, it looks like the new Copilot key will replace the right Control key on the standard PC keyboard, where it will slot in between the Alt key and the left arrow key ⌨️ 

In regions where Copilot is not available, the Copilot key will launch Windows Search. The first keyboards with the new key will launch at this year’s CES in Las Vegas and will likely start shipping in late February 📆 

OpenAI in danger within EU 🌍️ 

OpenAI has recently made moves to reduce its regulatory risk in the European Union (EU) around data privacy. The company has updated its terms of use and changed the entity that provides services such as ChatGPT to residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland to its Irish entity 🌐 

The company’s technology, including ChatGPT, has come under scrutiny in the EU over its impact on people’s privacy. There are ongoing investigations into data protection concerns linked to how the chatbot processes people’s information and the data it can generate about individuals 📊 

OpenAI has been engaged with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) and other EU Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) on this matter. If users disagree with OpenAI’s new terms, they have the option to delete their account 🧾

Using these prompting techniques, you can actually improve responses by up to 3x (now backed by research) 😉 

Here are 3 of the best techniques I tested 👇️ 

1. To get clarification or a deeper understanding of a topic, or any piece of information, use one of the following prompts:

• Explain [insert specific topic] in simple terms.

• Explain to me like I’m 11 years old.

• Explain to me as if I’m a beginner in [field].’

• Explain [topic] to me using simple English like you’re explaining something to a 5 year-old

2. If you have any text, such as an essay or paragraph, and want to replicate its writing style in another essay/response, then use this prompt:
