Anthropic’s new Claude 3 🤖 

Anthropic has introduced the Claude 3 model family, which makes a big leap in AI capabilities. Here are the details:

• Claude 3 Haiku: The entry-level model in the Claude 3 family. It offers a balance of intelligence, speed, and cost. Serves as an excellent starting point for various applications ✅ 

• Claude 3 Sonnet: A step up from Haiku, Sonnet is approximately twice as fast as its predecessor, Claude 2.1, while maintaining higher levels of intelligence. It excels in tasks requiring rapid responses, such as knowledge retrieval or sales automation 👔 
  

• Claude 3 Opus: This is the crown jewel of the Claude 3 lineup. Opus outperforms its peers on several common evaluation benchmarks for AI systems (MMLU, GPQA and GSM8K).

  
  Opus has near-human levels of comprehension and fluency on complex tasks, pushing the boundaries of AGI 😳 
  
  Additionally, all Claude 3 models demonstrate enhanced capabilities in analysis and forecasting, nuanced content creation, code generation, and even conversing in non-English languages like Spanish, Japanese, and French 🌐 

UPDATE: Elon Musk Vs OpenAI 🤖 

OpenAI has taken a big step in its ongoing legal battle with Elon Musk, publishing a revealing blog post that provides more info into their complex relationship.

The post, released on March 5, 2024, discloses past emails exchanged between Elon and OpenAI. It clarifies the meaning behind the term ‘Open’ in OpenAI: contrary to popular belief, it does not imply sharing the scientific knowledge behind AGI. Instead, the mission of OpenAI centers around ensuring that AGI benefits all of humanity 🌍️ 

Another pivotal point is that Elon Musk initially proposed a staggering $1 billion funding commitment for OpenAI. However, as the organization grappled with the immense computational requirements for AGI, discussions shifted toward creating a for-profit entity 📈

Elon Musk’s departure from OpenAI eventually led to his pursuit of building an AGI competitor within Tesla 🚗

The United States Army Research Laboratory is currently experimenting with generative AI technologies in war games, specifically within the context of a military video game 🎮️ 

According to a recent report, they are utilizing OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-4 Vision models to enhance battle planning. These AI models provide information about simulated battlefield terrain, details on friendly and enemy forces, and military strategies related to attacking and defending 🤯 

In the simulated scenario, the AI assistants were given a mission to destroy all enemy forces and seize an objective point. The GPT models outperformed the other two models in generating multiple courses of action ✅ 

Additionally, The Pentagon has requested billions of dollars for AI and networking capabilities, and a Chief Digital and AI Officer position has been established to drive technology adoption across the department 🤖
