Apple made tons of exciting announcements related to AI at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2024 🌐

Here’s a summary of the key announcements from Apple’s WWDC 2024 keynote 👇️

  1. Apple Intelligence 🍎

This will be Apple’s version of AI (get it?). As part of iOS 18, this will be a group of various generative AI features that Apple is going to push across its ecosystem. Apple Intelligence will require devices like the iPhone 15 Pro, iPad, or Macs with M1 or newer chips.

Check out this video to get a better understanding of Apple Intelligence.

  2. Integration with ChatGPT 🤖

Apple Intelligence features an integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This will allow Siri to use ChatGPT to answer user questions and generate written content. The integration, powered by GPT-4o, will come to iOS, iPadOS, and macOS later this year

  3. Siri Updates 🗣️

Siri is getting many significant updates, becoming more screen aware than ever before. Users will now be able to type queries directly into the system to access its generative AI. There’s also a new glowing light. And, Siri can also handle stumbles in speech and better understand context ✔️

  4. The new Photos app

The new Photos app introduces new navigation and organizational features. This will make it easier for users to discover their favourite photos, including those of friends, family, pets, trips, and more. The new version of the Photos app will also utilize generative AI to deliver Photoshop-grade editing capabilities for the average consumer 😳

  5. Tap to cash 💵

iOS18 includes Tap to Cash, a new way to send money to your friends using Apple Pay Cash. By simply bringing your phone close to a friend, you can send money instantly – transferring from your Apple Cash account45. It’s like AirDrop, but for sending money 📲

  6. Apple Genmoji 😀

Through Apple Intelligence, users can create Genmojis (Generative + Emoji) on their iPhone, iPad, and Mac just by bringing up the AI prompt and keyboard. By simply providing a description, you’ll see a unique Genmoji appear that’s ready to be sent off in the Messages app and more

  7. Apple’s new Image playground 🛝

With Image Playground, users can quickly create playful images, choosing from three styles: Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. Image Playground is straightforward to use, built into apps like Messages, and also available as a standalone app 📱

  8. The new iPad calculator 🧮

Apple has finally released its highly anticipated Calculator app for the iPad with a unique Math Notes feature. With Math Notes, you can input expressions in written or typed form and witness real-time solutions in their own handwriting. This dynamic tool allows for variable assignment, proving invaluable for students grasping new concepts, budget planners, and more 🧠

  1. iPhone Mirroring 💻️

Apple has announced a new feature in macOS 15, also known as macOS Sequoia, that allows users to mirror their iPhone on their Mac. This will allow users to view and control their iPhone directly from their Mac. The user’s custom wallpaper and icons appear just like on their iPhone, and they can swipe between pages on their Home Screen, or launch and browse any of their favorite apps.

Will Apple finally outdo Samsung with its new generative AI features?

SHORTCUTS IN CHATGPT

How to make ChatGPT remember custom details 🧠🤖

One of the most underrated features of ChatGPT is its ability to remember shortcuts and custom instructions,

You can save a lot of time in conversations if you use this feature effectively

Here’s how to use it 👇️

  1. Simply head to ChatGPT (you need to have a Plus subscription to access Memory)

  2. Now, click on your account name/photo on the top-right of the screen. Then select Settings Personalization → enable Memory.

  3. Now, you can teach ChatGPT shortcuts by prompting:

Store in your memory that when I start a prompt using: ‘@w’ means that I want you to search Wikipedia i.e. 'https://www.wikipedia.org/'”

  4. Now just try these shortcuts in your normal chats and see how much time you save 🎉

You can generate such shortcuts for other commands that you typically convey explicitly to ChatGPT, such as creating image or generating graphs
