Everything announced at Meta Connect 2024 ✅ 

Meta held its Meta Connect 2024 event yesterday, and it had some MASSIVE announcements! Here’s the rundown 👇️ 

1. Orion AR Glasses 🕶️ 
   Meta showcased their advanced AR glasses, which feature tiny projectors to display holograms on the lenses. These glasses can track voice, eye gaze, hand movements, and even use an EMG wristband for input.
   

2. Meta Quest 3S 
   This new budget VR has slightly lower resolution and field of view compared to the Quest 3 but offers a more affordable entry point into VR. It is priced at $299 🤑 
   

3. Other AI Updates 
   Meta introduced Llama 3.2, an AI model with improved image understanding capabilities. This model can answer questions by interpreting data from graphs and images ✅ 
   

4. Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
   The updated Ray-Ban glasses now support natural language processing, allowing users to interact without needing to say “Hey Meta” before every command. They also offer real-time video AI assistance 😳 
   

5. Voice Mode on Meta AI
   Similar to ChatGPT’s recent Advanced Voice Mode, this allows users to use their voice to talk with Meta AI on WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook and Instagram.

OpenAI releases Advanced Voice Mode 🗣️ 

OpenAI has recently rolled out its Advanced Voice Mode to all ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers 🤖 

This new feature allows for more natural conversations with the AI, including the ability to interrupt responses mid-sentence and for the AI to adjust its tone based on the user’s emotions 🤯 

The update also includes five new voices, bringing the total number of voices to nine. Additionally, the feature has also improved its understanding of accents and pronunciation of non-English words 🗣️

OpenAI faces series of big exits 👀 

CTO Mira Murati decided to leave OpenAI amid rumors that the company is removing its non-profit control and giving CEO Sam Altman equity.

She mentioned that she wants to create the time and space to explore new opportunities and directions.

Following her exit, OpenAI’s Chief Research Officer Bob McGrew and another research leader, Barret Zoph, have also left the company 🤔 

CEO Sam Altman mentioned that these decisions were made independently and amicably. Here’s how he reacted 👇️
