Microsoft’s deepfake technology 🤔 

Microsoft has recently revealed VASA-1, an AI tool that can create hyper-realistic talking faces directly from still images 🖼️ 

VASA-1 does it by combining a single static image with a speech audio clip. The resulting videos exhibit precise lip movements synchronized with the audio, capturing a wide range of facial nuances and natural head motions 🧕 

It can handle artistic photos, singing audios, and even non-English speech ✅

New AI strategy helps in curing Parkinson’s 🧠 

Researchers from the University of Cambridge have used AI to speed up the screening of new drugs for treating Parkinson’s disease 🧠 

Using an AI-based strategy, they identified compounds that block the clumping (or aggregation) of alpha-synuclein, the protein characteristic of Parkinson’s. This breakthrough could significantly accelerate the drug discovery process by ten-fold 📈 

Amazon Music x AI 🎵 

Amazon Music has recently launched a beta version of Maestro. This tool aims to revolutionize playlist creation for music listeners on both iOS and Android platforms 📱🎵 

Maestro simplifies the process of playlist creation by allowing users to provide a prompt idea. Whether it’s a short phrase, an emoji, an emotion, or a specific sound, Maestro takes these cues and generates a personalized playlist 🎵 

Once users have their personalized playlist, they can save it, share it with friends, and even invite others to create their own playlists for a collaborative music-sharing experience 💪 

Currently available in beta, Maestro caters to a subset of U.S. customers across all tiers of Amazon Music (Free, Prime, and Unlimited). As the feature evolves, Amazon plans to gradually expand access to more users 📈

Grok gets eyes 👀 

Elon Musk’s xAI has revealed Grok-1.5 Vision. This new version of the Grok 1.5 model now has computer vision capabilities, allowing it to process visual content and respond to related queries 📈 

In addition to its strong text capabilities, it can process a wide variety of visual information, including documents, diagrams, charts, screenshots, and photographs 💪 

Grok-1.5 Vision outperforms its competitors in the new RealWorldQA benchmark, which measures real-world spatial understanding. This benchmark evaluates basic real-world spatial capabilities of multimodal models.

For example, it can answer questions like “Which object is larger: the pizza cutter or the scissors?” or "Where can we go from the current lane?"

As of now, Grok-1.5 Vision is currently available to early testers and existing Grok users only ❗️
