Neuralink raises more money despite concerns 🤔 

Neuralink, the brain implant startup founded by Elon Musk, has raised an additional $43 million in venture capital, according to a filing with the SEC. This comes after the company had previously raised $280 million 💰️ 

Neuralink is developing implantable chips that can read brain waves. The company aims to use these implants to connect your brain to a computer🧠 

Even though Neuralink faced criticism for animal experiments, the new funding suggests that investors still believe in its technology. Before the brain implants are widely available, they need approval from regulators ✅ 

Microsoft releases Orca 2 🤖 

Microsoft Research has recently announced the release of Orca 2, a small language model (SLM) that’s designed to match the reasoning capabilities of large language models (LLMs) 💪 

Orca 2 significantly surpasses models of similar size (including the original Orca model) and attains performance levels similar to or better than models 5-10 times larger 📈 

It will come in two sizes (7 billion and 13 billion parameters); both are created by fine-tuning the corresponding LLAMA 2 base models 🤔 

Google Meet makes meetings more interactive 🙋 

Google Meet has introduced a new feature that allows users to physically raise their hands to indicate their desire to speak during meetings. This feature uses gesture detection to recognize when a user raises their hand 🖐️ 

The gesture feature is off in Google Meet by default, therefore, users will have to activate it through the settings ⚙️ 

The feature has been officially rolled out starting from November 21 and the gradual rollout will begin from November 28, 2023 🥳 

Amazon offering free courses on generative AI ✍️ 

Amazon has launched a new initiative called “AI Ready” with the aim of providing free AI skills training to 2 million people globally by 2025 🌍️ 

This includes the introduction of eight new free AI and generative AI courses which range from foundational to advanced 📈 

These courses would cater to both non-technical and technical users 👨‍🎓 

Microsoft avoiding copyright from Disney ⁉️ 

Microsoft has blocked the term ‘Disney’ in its AI image generator. This action was taken after a viral social media trend where users were creating AI-generated movie posters in the style of Disney-Pixar with their dogs as the main character 🐶 

Disney likely raised concerns over copyright or intellectual property infringement. In response to these concerns, Microsoft initially blocked the term ‘Disney’ from being entered into the image generator. Users who tried to enter the term ‘Disney’ received a message saying that the search term was against Microsoft’s policies 👨‍🎓 

However, Microsoft has since adjusted its tool. Now, when the term ‘Disney’ is entered, the Disney text and logo appear scrambled.
