Nvidia’s new AI models 🤖 

Nvidia has recently introduced a new family of open-source AI models called Nemotron-4 340B 🤖 

This family includes three models: Nemotron-4-340B-Base, Nemotron-4-340B-Instruct, and Nemotron-4-340B-Reward. These models are designed to generate high-quality synthetic training data, which is crucial for training powerful LLMs across various industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and retail ✅ 

The Nemotron-4 340B models are open access under the NVIDIA Open Model License Agreement, which is similar to the Apache 2.0 license, making them freely available for the community to use 💪 

Developers can access Nemotron-4 340B via platforms like Hugging Face and soon on ai.nvidia.com, where they will be packaged as an NVIDIA NIM microservice with a standard application programming interface for easy deployment ✅ 

The Nemotron-4 models match or exceed open-source competitors like Llama-3, Mixtral, and Qwen-2 across a variety of benchmarks 😳 

AI that learns from videos? 📽️ 

Researchers from Microsoft, Google, MIT, and Oxford released new research presenting DenseAV. It’s an algorithm that learns to understand and parse language by watching videos, without any prior knowledge of written language ✍️ 

The algorithm was inspired by the idea of learning language from scratch, much like how a child learns by associating words with visual cues. For instance, if DenseAV hears someone saying “bake the cake at 350,” it will predict that it might see a cake or an oven. This cross-modal learning allows it to distinguish between spoken words and sounds, like differentiating the word “dog” from the sound of a dog barking ✅ 

OpenAI Sora’s biggest (and fastest) competitor 👊 

Luma Labs has introduced an innovative AI model called the Dream Machine. This model is capable of creating high-quality, realistic 5-second video clips from text and image prompts. It’s built on a scalable and efficient transformer model trained directly on videos, which allows it to generate physically accurate, consistent, and eventful shots ☑️ 

It’s designed to be fast and efficient, removing the barriers that typically limit other text-to-video generation softwares.
