OpenAI’s newest GPT model ⁉️ 

OpenAI has announced the release of its new flagship generative AI model, GPT-4 🤖 

The “im-also-a-good-gpt2-chatbot” in the LMSYS Arena was GPT-4o all along 😳 

This model is set to roll out iteratively in the company’s products over the next few weeks. GPT-4o provides “GPT-4-level” intelligence but improves on GPT-4’s capabilities across text, vision, and audio ✅ 

GPT-4o can also accept images as inputs and generate captions, classifications, and analyses 📈 

It is more reliable, creative, and able to handle much more nuanced instructions than its predecessor, GPT-3.5 🤖 

GPT-4o exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks. For example, it passes a simulated bar exam with a score around the top 10% of test takers 📈 

How will AI affect online dating? 💕🤖 

Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of Bumble, recently made some interesting comments about the future of dating and the role of AI 🤖

She sees future where users could talk to an AI “dating concierge” about their insecurities, and the AI could provide productive tips for communicating with other people 🤔 

She also suggests that in the future, your dating concierge could go on dates for you with other dating concierges. If the bots have a good date, then their human counterparts get matched up 💘 

This approach could help users avoid having to talk to hundreds of people. Instead, the AI would scan all potential matches and suggest the top few people you might want to meet 📈 

It’s an intriguing vision of the future of dating, and it will be interesting to see how these ideas develop 💡 

Did Claude fail vs ChatGPT? 📉 

Anthropic’s AI chatbot app, Claude, recently launched on iOS, but it has not been as well-received as ChatGPT was during its debut.

Despite offering similar functionality to ChatGPT, including history sync and photo upload capabilities, Claude only managed to garner 157,000 global downloads in its first week. In contrast, ChatGPT saw 480,000 installs in the first five days of its U.S. launch 📈 

This low response to Claude suggests that there may not be the same level of consumer demand or brand recognition around this ChatGPT rival 😶 

OpenAI in danger within EU 🌍️ 

OpenAI has recently made moves to reduce its regulatory risk in the European Union (EU) around data privacy. The company has updated its terms of use and changed the entity that provides services such as ChatGPT to residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland to its Irish entity 🌐 

The company’s technology, including ChatGPT, has come under scrutiny in the EU over its impact on people’s privacy. There are ongoing investigations into data protection concerns linked to how the chatbot processes people’s information and the data it can generate about individuals 📊 

OpenAI has been engaged with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) and other EU Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) on this matter. If users disagree with OpenAI’s new terms, they have the option to delete their account 🧾

SHORTCUTS IN CHATGPT

How to make ChatGPT important details about you 🧠🤖 

Last week, I talked about ChatGPT’s memory feature.

But it has another use-case which can help ChatGPT help remember shortcuts,

This means, you can save a lot of time in conversations if used effectively ✅ 

Here’s how to use it 👇️ 

1. Simply head to ChatGPT (you need to have a Plus subscription to access Memory)
   
   

2. Now, click on your account name/photo on the bottom-left of the screen. Then select Settings → Personalization → enable Memory.
   
   

3. Now, you can teach ChatGPT shortcuts by prompting:

   
   “Store in your memory that when I start a prompt using: ‘@img’ means that I want you to create an image.
   

   

4. Now just try these shortcuts in your normal chats and see how much time you save 🎉
   

   

   You can generate such shortcuts for other commands that you typically convey explicitly to ChatGPT, such as searching the internet or generating graphs ✅
