OpenAI announces new board members 📈 

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has regained his seat on the company’s board of directors after several months of absence after he had been removed from the board. Alongside him, three new members have joined the board:

• Sue Desmond-Hellmann: Former CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

• Nicole Seligman: An attorney and corporate director.

• Fidji Simo: CEO of Instacart.

These additions bring OpenAI’s board to eight members ✅ 

The transitionary board members, who were appointed after Altman’s departure in November, will continue to serve alongside the new appointees 👔 

AI company’s most difficult decision yet… 😶 

Inscribe.ai, a San Francisco-based company specializing in AI-powered fraud detection software, has laid off nearly 40% of its workforce 📉 

The decision comes after challenges in meeting revenue goals due to market conditions. The company’s platform focuses on detecting fraud in areas like business underwriting and tenant screening.

Despite the layoffs, Inscribe.ai remains committed to its mission and plans to launch a new product aligned with industry shifts. Before the downsizing, the company employed around 60 individuals and had raised $38 million in funding ✅

Siri gets huge AI upgrades in 2024 📈 

Dag Kittlaus, the co-founder of the AI startup that Apple acquired in 2010, announced some exciting news about Siri via X 🗣️ 

He believes that Siri will become a powerful contender in the AI landscape, even competing against models like ChatGPT and Gemini. While Siri may not have all the flashy features of its counterparts, it stands out for its privacy-conscious approach and seamless integration with shortcuts.

With the upcoming iOS 18 on the horizon, big things are expected for Apple’s voice assistant 💪

USE AI WITHIN EXCEL

Supercharge your productivity with this AI-Google Sheets integration ✅ 

Google has just integrated Gemini AI into Google Sheets (and other services like YouTube, Gmail and Docs) 📈 

It helps you process data, understand tables and generate formulas much more easily.

Here’s how to use it 👇️ 

1. Open Google Sheets and click on the button to the left of your profile picture ◀️ 
   

   The ‘Ask Gemini’ tab opens and automatically summarizes your spreadsheet.

   

   This is the ‘Collaborate with Gemini’ feature ✅ 

   
   

   

   Click on the arrow to bring up the suggestions

2. You can choose one of the suggested formulas, or type out a brief of the custom formula you would like to implement in the sheet ✅

3. Now, just copy and paste the formula where you want it.
   

   Select an empty cell and click on "Insert" to have Gemini insert the formula into your table ✅ 

   And this is not all, you can try playing around with the prompt-bar and even use Gemini for summarising data, explaining columns and even creating tables altogether 💪
