OPENAI IS BACK

Sam Altman Finally Returns As CEO 🚀

Sam added that he’s “excited to get back to work” 💼

After the roller-coaster of events that followed the past few days at OpenAI, Sam Altman finally returned to OpenAI as the CEO on November 29, 2023 📆

This follows after an agreement was made between him and OpenAI’s board to reinstate him as CEO and restructure the board to include new members 🙍

The new initial board of OpenAI consists of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo (all of which are prominent figures from the tech and economic sectors) 📈

Mira Murati, who was appointed as interim CEO after Altman’s firing, will also return to her role as CTO, along with Greg Brockman, who returns as the President of OpenAI 🎁

These new changes mark a new chapter in OpenAI’s journey, and are expected to bring stability to the organization and guide it in its mission to ensure that AGI benefits all of humanity 🤖

And on a side note, Open AI also celebrated the one-year anniversary of ChatGPT yesterday 🗓️

What began as a “low-key research preview” evolved into a powerhouse that changed the AI industry forever ♾️

In a post on X, Sam Altman looked back on the night before its launch 👇️

PROMPT OF THE WEEK

Just copy-paste it, and you’re done

Optimize your weekly schedule with ChatGPT 🤖

I found this ChatGPT hack that helps me trim down my weekly tasks and save valuable hours during my week ⏲️

Here's exactly how you can do this 😎

Just screenshot your calendar for this week 📆

And upload the screenshot to ChatGPT with this prompt 👇️

“Review the attached calendar for my upcoming schedule. Ask me clarifying questions to identify meetings or tasks that are less critical or low-priority, and suggest alternative times when these could be rescheduled or delegated, so I can prioritize maintaining blocks of time for high-value work and strategic planning. Additionally, flag any commitments that may no longer be necessary or beneficial. Every time I send an updated calendar, ensure I consistently focus on the most impactful tasks and responsibilities.”

Here’s the result 👇️

It streamlines and prioritizes only those tasks that are crucial 🗓️

For someone like me who plans everything on Google Calendar, this is a real gamechanger 📈

It clears things up when I'm unsure about certain events, need to figure out my top priorities, or spot possible conflicts in my schedule 💼

(Remember that you can apply this prompt in various scenarios to manage your time well and increase productivity throughout the week.

Whether you're sorting out work stuff or handling your personal life, this prompt will make your time management more efficient and stress-free 😄)

BREAKING AI NEWS

Pika Labs raised $55 million in funding 💵

Pika Labs, a company that is developing AI tools for video generation and editing, has recently raised $55 million in funding. The company has launched an AI video editing app and is continuously working on building a new kind of generative video tool called Pika 1.0 🤖

Pika 1.0 is an idea-to-video platform that uses generative AI to create various styles of videos with just a text prompt ⌨️

Not only does it generate videos from prompts but you can also feed it an image, and the tool will animate it – it’s something the company calls image-conditioned video generation. This is an exciting development in the field of AI and video editing 📽️

Amazon releases new chatbot Q 🤖

Amazon has unveiled a new AI-powered chatbot for businesses called Q. This was announced during a keynote at Amazon’s re:Invent conference in Las Vegas 🌴

Q is designed to answer questions like "how do I build a web application using AWS?" and is aimed at streamlining operations. It’s now in public preview and starts at $20 per user per year 💲

It’s also worth noting that Amazon’s new language models have outperformed GPT-3.5 on ScienceQA by 16 percentage points, or 75.1% to 91.6% accuracy. This has set in motion a chatbot mega-race with contenders like Microsoft, Google, Baidu, and Amazon 🥊

Amazon reveals new AI chips 🖥️

Amazon has unveiled new chips for training and running AI models 🤖

One of the new chips is Trainium2, which is meant for AI model training. The chip is said to offer 4x faster training and 2x energy efficiency compared to the previous Trainium chips 🔙

Another chip is the Graviton4 processor, which boasts 96 Arm Neoverse V2 cores, a significant increase from its predecessor 🧒

ChatGPT is NOT the app of the year 📆

Both Apple and Google today announced their best apps and games of the year, with the hiking and biking companion AllTrails winning as Apple’s iPhone App of the Year in 2023 📱

Whereas the educational app Imprint: Learn Visually won as Google Play’s best app 👁️‍🗨️

It’s also worth noting that neither Apple nor Google chose an AI app as its app of the year, despite the incredible success of ChatGPT’s mobile app which became the fastest-growing consumer application in history earlier this year when it reached 100 million users shortly after its launch 📈

Meanwhile, Apple and Google agreed on their Game of the Year, as both picked Honkai: Star Rail as their winner 🎮️
