Siri about to get the biggest update ever 📈 

Apple is indeed planning a major overhaul of Siri, its virtual assistant. This revamp is expected to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10 📆 

The new version of Siri is reported to be powered by more advanced artificial intelligence AI, which will enable users to control individual app functions with their voice. This means Siri will be able to command all app features for the first time ✅ 

The new system is being developed using LLMs, a core technology behind generative AI. This will allow Siri to be more conversational, understand context, and answer more reasonably. The current version of Siri is very much a one-shot question and answer system, that often misunderstands the user intent 🤔 

In addition to these improvements, the new Siri will also be able to do things like summarize incoming text messages and notifications. Apple will boast that its approach is more private than rival offerings, as it will process most requests entirely on-device rather than relaying commands to the cloud ☁️ 

Why Sam Altman was fired - Explained ✅ 

Helen Toner, a former OpenAI board member, did speak out about the events leading up to Sam Altman’s firing from OpenAI. Here are some key points from her statements 👇️ 

• When OpenAI released ChatGPT in November 2022, the board was not informed in advance and found out about it on Twitter.
  

• Altman did not tell the board he owned the OpenAI startup fund 💰️
   

• Toner accused Altman of withholding information, misrepresenting things that were happening at the company, and in some cases outright lying to the board 🤔 
  

• Altman allegedly gave the board inaccurate information about the small number of formal safety processes that the company did have in place,
  

• Toner said that after years of this kind of behavior, all four of the board members who fired him came to the conclusion that they just couldn’t believe things that Altman was telling them 🤐 
  

Altman was renamed CEO less than a week after he was fired. Although Toner’s comments do give insight into the board’s decision for the first time ✅ 

AI’s latest invention for the deaf community 🧏 

Cornell researchers have recently introduced a new model called SignLLM. This is a multilingual Sign Language Production (SLP) model. Here are some key points about SignLLM 👇️ 

• It’s built on a comprehensive multilingual sign language dataset named Prompt2Sign. This dataset includes American Sign Language (ASL) and seven other sign languages 🌐 
  

• The dataset transforms a vast array of videos into a streamlined, model-friendly format, optimized for training with translation models like seq2seq and text2text.
  

• SignLLM includes two novel multilingual SLP modes that allow for the generation of sign language gestures from input text or prompt ⌨️ 
  

• Benchmark results demonstrate that SignLLM achieves state-of-the-art performance on SLP tasks across eight sign languages 📈 

This is a significant advancement in the field of computer vision and language computation. It will help in making communication more accessible for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community ✅ 

Microsoft brings Copilot to Telegram 🤖 

Microsoft has launched an official Copilot bot on Telegram. This AI-powered tool can generate text and answer specific questions. It’s currently in beta and is free for Telegram users on both mobile and desktop platforms ✅ 

The Copilot bot for Telegram allows users to interact with the AI chatbot for various tasks. It can answer a wide range of questions. The bot can be accessed by searching its username, @CopilotOfficial Bot.

This integration of Copilot into third-party services like Telegram signifies that Microsoft might want its AI chatbot to live in other social apps 📈
