BREAKING AI NEWS

Slack getting some serious slack 👀

There has been recent controversy regarding Slack’s AI training policy.

Here’s a quick rundown 👇️

  • Slack has been using messages, data, files, and other content for AI training without users’ explicit permission 🤔

  • The privacy policy was changed in September 2023, but many users were unaware of it.

  • If users do not want their data to be used for training, they have to email the company to opt out.

  • The terms of this engagement are tucked away in what appears to be an out-of-date, confusing privacy policy 📃

  • This issue came to light when a post on Hacker News about how Slack trains its AI services went viral 📈

  • Slack has responded by stating that it uses ‘industry-standard, privacy-preserving machine learning techniques’ and that its machine learning models are 'not trained to reproduce customer data’ 🤖

All about the OpenAI x Reddit partnership 🤝

OpenAI has recently announced a partnership with Reddit. It will allow OpenAI to use Reddit’s data and content to train ChatGPT

This means OpenAI will have access to “real-time, structured and unique content” from Reddit, allowing its tools and models to “better understand and showcase” that content 📈

OpenAI will also become a Reddit advertising partner 🤝

In turn, Reddit will also gain access to OpenAI’s LLMs to create features for Reddit, including its volunteer moderators 🤖

Google brings new Accessibility features to Androids 📱

Google has recently announced some updates to Android as part of 2024’s Accessibility Awareness Day. Here are the additions 🔽

  • Project Gameface: This allows users with limited mobility to use facial movements, like raising an eyebrow, moving their mouth, or turning their head, to activate a variety of functions

  • Look to Speak Mode: A new non-text “look to speak” mode that lets people choose and send emojis either on their own or as representatives for a phrase or action 😃

  • Custom Object or Location Recognition: Users will be able to add custom object or location recognition so the instant description function will give them what they need and not just a list of generic objects.

These updates are aimed at making Android more accessible to folks with mobility or vision impairments

COPILOT’S NOTEBOOK FEATURE

Enhance your chatbot prompts using Copilot 🤖📈

Now you can improve your AI prompts using AI 😳

I covered this method of improving your prompts few weeks back,

But we have a lots of new subscribers who might have missed this valuable guide the first time around- so I want to revisit this easy and effective technique again 📈

Here’s an updated way on how you can use Copilot Notebook to iterate and tweak on a single prompt, so that you can achieve better outputs 📈

Here’s how to use it 👇️

  1. Head over to Copilot Notebook. Here you will have a character limit of 18,000, unlike chat, which has a limit of 4,000.

You will see an input and output interface 💻️

  1. Simply write your prompt that you want to test, and press Shift+Enter to submit 🚀

This will send it to see the result to GPT-4 on the right.

The unique split interface makes it very easy to test your prompts without having to create a new conversation each time 💪

I picked this prompt from my ChatGPT Masterclass 📈

  2. Now, you can modify or fine-tune your prompt.

Based on the results, you can keep doing the same until you find the best response to your prompt 📈

This is a huuuge time-saver, because it lets improve your responses without starting from scratch every time in a chat 💬

Plus, it holds onto older versions of your prompts, so you can tweak and refine them until they're just right.

Feel free to drop a comment and share which guide you'd like to see next 🤝
